The LymphTracker™ Team apologizes for any problems our users who recently upgraded to iOS 6 may be experiencing. Don’t worry – our team is on it and the problem should be rectified soon. In the meantime, please remember that LymphTracker™ is a great tool for keeping track of baseline pre-operative measurements prior to any surgery that will require a lymph node biopsy.
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM), and we hope LymphTracker™ will become a helpful tool for anyone diagnosed with Breast Cancer, to help prevent one of the side effects from treatment called lymphedema. It is hard to believe NBCAM was founded in 1985, which means it has been around longer in the United States than the gold standard for lymphedema treatment, known as Complete Decongestive Therapy. CDT did not come to the United States until later in the 1980’s.
A lot has changed since those days, especially the awareness about Breast Cancer Related Lymphedema (BCRL). Recent studies have shown the positive benefits to establishing a pre-operative baseline and then taking measurements on a regular basis after surgery and being aware of the early symptoms. This is one of the primary uses for LymphTracker™. So “Think Pink” this month and pass along this app to a friend or family member who could use this helpful tool. You can “gift” it in the app store. For more information on early detection of lymphedema please check out the National Lymphedema Network’s position paper on “Screening and Measurement for Early Detection of Breast Cancer Related Lymphedema” at the following site:
